Our Peer Support Leads (PSLs) have been incredibly busy this term. After being trained and successfully taking on their roles in the Spring, they are now vital mentors for younger students.
What the PSLs are Doing?
The PSLs are providing support in many different ways:
-
One-on-One Help: Offering space to chat and guidance.
-
School Talks: Leading discussions in assemblies and tutor time.
-
Video Content: Creating videos on important topics like Anti-Bullying.
-
Teamwork: Meeting regularly to reflect on their sessions and sharpen their mentoring skills.
This term, the PSLs have also been collaborating with students from across our schools for joint training. Two key sessions were held:
-
Managing Anxiety: Providing great tips on how to help younger students cope with stress.
-
The Teenage Brain: Giving them a better understanding of how teenagers think and ideas for practical support.
The Peer Support Programme continues to be a huge success, offering enhanced care and mentoring across our schools. Our PSLs handle challenging situations with maturity and insight, proving that this award-winning programme benefits everyone involved.
