Students Shine in Business Language Challenge
Over 75 Students from 5 of our partnership schools put their language and entrepreneurial skills to the test last week in a highly engaging and energetic Business Language Challenge. The event, hosted by Abingdon School, transformed the room into an international marketplace, requiring students to collaborate, create, and sell in their chosen foreign language.
The challenge pushed participants out of their comfort zones, working in mixed school teams, they had to master several key business disciplines, including:
- Pitching and Selling: Teams developed compelling sales pitches and presented their products in a foreign language. They also overcame nerves to speak in front of the judges.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: The groups worked together, they divided roles, managed time, and supported one another.
- Advert Creation: Students used their creativity to design and produce marketing materials and adverts.
Feedback showed that 90% of attendees would recommend the day to a friend and 93% felt challenged by the day. Students commented on the benefits of working in a team in their feedback and enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people and get creative. One student said ‘I enjoyed talking to new people and exploring a new language.’
The day was one of high energy, brilliant teamwork, and impressive language and communication skills. Staff at the event commented on the high levels of engagement and excellent group work.
Congratulations to all the teams for their hard work and creativity, especially the winning team for their success. The Business Language Challenge provided an opportunity for challenge and skill development as well as a day filled with friendship and collaboration.
