Over 100 students recently participated in ChallengED, an exciting and educational event organised by the OX14 Learning Partnership and hosted by Larkmead School. The morning focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects and provided a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on activities and collaborate in mixed school teams.
One of the highlights of the event was the Ibrick challenge, led by local company House of Fun. Students were tasked with building and creating structures, testing their problem-solving and engineering skills in a fun and interactive way. In addition, ChallengED offered a space-themed activity run by The SpaceStore, where students had the chance to explore the mysteries of space and engage in creative learning experiences.
The event not only emphasised the importance of STEM education but also allowed students to take on various roles within their teams, helping them develop valuable communication and teamwork skills. It was a fantastic chance for students to meet new people, collaborate on exciting projects, and, most importantly, have fun.
With its focus on hands-on learning and teamwork, ChallengED proved to be a huge success, inspiring students to explore STEM fields while building lasting connections with peers.
