SUMMARY:Youth Space in collaboration with The Abingdon Bridge
DESCRIPTION:A core aim for the OX14 Learning Partnership is to support the mental health and wellbeing of students from across the partnership. We are excited to announce the launch of a weekly youth space in collaboration with local charity The Abingdon Bridge. TAB is a wellbeing charity situated in the heart of Abingdon that aims to enable young people to have the resilience to overcome life’s challenges. It supports all young people between the ages of 13 and 18.\n\nThe weekly youth space will be located at Tilsley Park and runs two sessions Y8 and 9  5- 6.30\, Y10 and 11 7 – 8.30 on Wednesday evenings from February. Students from all six partner schools are invited to attend if they want somewhere to meet new friends\, take part in activities and join a supportive community. DESCRIPTION:Applying for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine OX14 poster 2022 \nApplying for Medicine or Veterinary Medicine: a Higher Education information event\, 6.00pm\, Wednesday 2 March 2022 (St Helen and St Katharine\, Abingdon) \nYear 10\, 11 and 12 students and parents are invited to attend our sixth ‘Applying for Medicine or Veterinary Medicine’ event which will be hosted by SHSK on Wednesday 2 March at 6.00pm. \nExperts from a range of universities will be giving their top tips on how to make a successful application \nWe will start with a key note speech\, followed by separate talks from representatives of universities offering degrees in medicine and veterinary medicine. They will talk about the specifics of applying for the course along with a question and answer session. If you would like to sign up\, please complete the electronic response form: here by Thursday 24th February. \nCovid-19 safety requirements at school events \nPlease note that in order to protect our community\, all visitors attending on-site events are encouraged to carry out a lateral flow test within 24 hours of entry to the School; we would also request that you do not attend if you are at all unwell. He travels to the furthest corners of Britain… Shetland\, Scilly etc to find out how the pandemic impacted people all over the country. SUMMARY:My Career: Perspectives on Equality in the UK today -David Isaac (Provost of Worcester)
DESCRIPTION:Worcester College (1)After attending King Henry VIII Grammar School in Abergavenny\, which became a comprehensive when he was in the third form\, David went on to read Law at Trinity Hall\, Cambridge.  He undertook postgraduate studies in Socio-Legal studies at Wolfson College\, Oxford\, before qualifying as a solicitor. \nHe was a partner in Pinsent Masons LLP for many years\, where he held a number of senior positions.  During his career he specialised in advising clients on contract law matters and acted for HM Government and many other FTSE 100 and 250 companies. \nThroughout his career David has also been involved in many other activities in the arts\, human rights and education.  He is the former Chair of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission of Great Britain\, Chair of Stonewall and Chair of Modern Art Oxford.  He was also a director of the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund\, the Human Dignity Trust\, the Big Lottery and 14-18 NOW.  He is the current Chair of Governors at the University for the Arts London. \nDavid is a passionate supporter of the visual arts\, as well as a keen mountain walker\, swimmer\, gardener\, cook and beekeeper. \nAll students from partner schools are welcome to attend this event either online or in person.
