SUMMARY:What can time travel teach us about free will? - Philosophy and Physics talk
DESCRIPTION:Partnership Students and teachers are invited to a fascinating talk from Colin Stuart\, author. \nFew people know that time travel isn’t just\npossible – it has already been done.\nIn this mind-expanding talk\, students will\nhear the stories of the people who have\ntravelled into their own futures and lived to\ntell the tale. And how they rely on the same\nphysics whenever they use the map on their smartphone. \nBut what does this say about our free will? Do\nwe have a choice about what happens\ntomorrow? A set of time travel paradoxes\nholds the answer: free will is a stubbornly persistent illusion. \nThis physics-meets-philosophy talk is\nguaranteed to get students thinking deeply\nand seeing the world anew (although they\nwere always going to anyway…) \nSee the poster here: Flyer physics philosophy talk \nSign up here
